Meeting the goal

About three months ago, my niece invited family members to take part in a 5K race to celebrate my sister's 60th birthday. It was a perfect birthday celebration idea for my sister who has always been a great athlete. I wanted to take part, but I wasn't prepared to run a 5K. I did a little research and found the Mayo Clinic 5K Race Prep schedule. I started the prep, stopped, and then started again in earnest seven weeks before the race. Happily, the training schedule was just what I needed to enable me to take part in the celebratory run. Though I was certainly not a star runner, I did it, and that brought me satisfaction and my sister, happiness.

There is great reward in meeting a goal, and having a realistic, doable schedule to follow helps you to meet the goals you've set. Now, I'll use the Mayo Clinic model to create a schedule for my next goal--a goal, if reached, that will bring me further satisfaction. I love having a goal to work for as that brings life good energy and accomplisment. Onward.
