I don't know whether it is more difficult to face a challenge myself or watch another person face a challenge. Whenever I witness someone facing a challenge, my first instinct is to lend a hand and try to remedy the situation. Yet, most often, I don't have what the challenge demands, and the individual facing the challenge has to find a way to overcome the challenge on their own. What can you do in situations like that?
I think that the best we can do is let people know that we're available to help if needed, and then do what we can. If those facing the challenge don't welcome our support, then we have to stand back unless the situation is of a dire nature that harms or hurts people. Then we have a responsibility to act.
It's difficult to watch those we love and care for face challenges, but that's part of life. Onward.
